A great testimonial from a young pastor, and community leader. He has helped facilitate several adventures on the water, as well as Pow wow, and events. He has great rapport with the veterans. He holds a degree in audio visual, and humbly takes time from his busy schedule to assist the filmmaker who has been chronicling the adventures of black feather scout. I hope to share some of the footage soon.

"I'll get right to it. First off, there's no doubt in my mind that Blackfeather Scout, with more funding infrastructure, could be a dominant force for positive change in the world of veterans, wilderness excursions, and regional tribal stewardship and entrepreneurship.

It has been an eye-opener and therapeutic "return to Jesus" for me over the most recent years here in 2022. I first encountered Blackfeather Scout when I was in the market for an electric bicycle. What better way to get out of the house than to get a bike? And I began speaking with Blackfeather scout and, on top of spec-ing out the safe and robust setup for me to have, we discussed native history in local tribes in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas.

I jokingly mentioned that my grandma says that "we've been here for 2000 years." He asked me what part of Virginia my family was from, and he immediately told me the names and languages of the people we could've been associated with. Something just rang through at my heart at that moment. I was thunderstruck! My ancestors were in the room. At that point, he was like, "yeah, bikes are cool, but if you really want to connect, you should get out on the water. I think it would be more along your ancestral lines". I was sold, and given the pandemic, I needed to get out. So the day of the trip, we meet up and got to the water, And everything goes as planned. The water is one of the most beautiful places I could ever have immediate access to. Who would've thought right here in the center of our nation's capital on the Anacostia river with black feather scout pointing out historical and even metaphysical details in the land, air, and river? I saw a boat making bigger waves and must say I was spooked for a second, but ultimately the boat couldn't haunt us….

Sidebar - I have had some of the best vegan foods and teas just from the meal prep talks and samples around the campfire- I could really see how it takes a walk in nature to be reminded to slow down and return to inner sense..( sorry had to!) And better yet, have a qualified guide to be safe. I couldn't help but wonder if it could be set up in other places and really change and be holistic therapy in some more peoples' lives with national reach.
